עם גילמן (גיל) רוד (באנגלית)

במפגש זה יחלוק איתנו גילמן (גיל) רוד את סיפור חייו המרתק, מהחדר הקטן בפורטלנד בו למד עד כיתה ח', ועד לשנותיו הרבות בחיל הים האמריקאי שבו שירת כטייס במשך 28 שנה. בין טיסותיו הרבות כלולה גם טיסת ראווה עם טייסת ה-Blue Angels.

גילמן (גיל) רוד שירת כטייס בחיל הים האמריקאי. לאחר שירותו הצבאי, בגיל 50, הצטרף לחברת בואינג כמנהל שיווק ומכירות והיה אחראי בין השאר על ממשק הלקוחות עם כל קציני הדגל של חיל הים.

גיל חי בסן דייגו עם אשתו. יש לו חמישה ילדים ותשעה נכדים והוא עדיין טס ונהנה לספר את סיפורו.

In this meeting, Gil Rud will share with us his fascinating story, from his childhood in Portland, ND, where he grew up attending a one-room country school through the first eight grades, to his many years of service in the Navy. The highlights of his 28 years-long Navy career included four command tours.

After his service in the Navy, Gil joined Boeing Company. He retired in July 2009 as Boeing's director of marketing and sales at the Boeing Office in Patuxent River, MD. He was responsible for enterprise-level customer interface with all of the Navy and Marine Corps flag officers and senior executive service leaders involved in the acquisition process, as well as all of the operational flag officers served by the Naval Air Systems Command.

Currently, Gil resides in San Diego with his wife Carol. Together they have five children and nine grandchildren. He still pursues his love of flying as an Aviat Husky pilot and enjoys telling his story.
